Charlie Nooney – Chairman and CEO

Charlie Nooney is the CEO and chairman for MobiTV, Inc.  Nooney is a seasoned media executive, with a career dedicated to connecting media and mainstream brands with consumers through emerging technologies.

Prior to joining MobiTV, Nooney was president at Technicolor Network Services (TNS) where he was responsible for supporting a wide range of media companies, content owners, channel operators and corporate media networks including BBC Worldwide, Canal+, Disney and ITV.  He managed TNS’ global operations, strategic direction, retail growth, cinema networks and broadcast services.  Nooney also served as chairman for ScreenVision, the country’s leading in-theater advertising network, through the ScreenVision’s joint venture relationship with Thomson.

Before Thomson, Nooney was CEO of Premier Retail Networks (PRN), where he spent seven years in leadership roles and growing PRN to become the country’s largest in-store television network. Nooney’s responsibilities at PRN included directing the overall strategy, the long-term expansion of the company’s broadcast and interactive networks, and day-to-day operations. Nooney played an instrumental role in the sale of PRN to Thomson.

Prior to PRN, Nooney was executive vice president of affiliate sales and marketing for Disney/ABC Cable Networks, where he spent 15 years developing world-class partnerships and network positioning programs, while driving sustained revenue growth.

Nooney holds a bachelors degree in urban affairs and a master’s degree in urban affairs and public administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).

Paul Scanlan – President, Co-Founder

Paul Scanlan is a President and Co-Founder of MobiTV, Inc.  In this role, Scanlan manages all aspects of the company’s sales, marketing and partnering efforts.  Scanlan has been intimately involved in defining and evolving the company’s business plan, and its partnering and corporate strategies.

Scanlan has driven the launch of MobiTV on three of the nations’ leading cellular carrier networks, and has helped secure MobiTV’s current line-up of over 25 well-known channels through negotiations with some of the nations’ largest television content providers.  Additionally, Scanlan manages the company’s International efforts and operations where he has played a key role in generating the initial momentum and hiring the teams to run the new MobiTV offices around the world.

Previously, Scanlan was Managing Partner and Executive Vice President with Enterprise IG, where he managed the company’s technology consulting practice and was instrumental in successfully expanding and growing the business. Prior to Enterprise IG, Scanlan cofounded a successful advertising agency in Chicago, and prior to that he worked in telecommunications sales at Lucent Technologies (formerly AT&T).

Scanlan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Wisconsin.

Kay Johansson – Chief Technology Officer

Kay Johansson serves as the Chief Technology Officer at MobiTV driving the creation, development and deployment of mobile television technologies on mobile devices and personal computers over the broad array of networks.

Prior to joining MobiTV in 2006, Johansson served as the CTO of Popwire, a former Ericsson company, where he led development and product strategy.  He has extensive experience building media delivery solutions from server to handset. While at Popwire, Johansson and his team were instrumental in designing an end-to-end media streaming infrastructure that is the core of Ericsson's media delivery system. In 2000 Popwire, together with Ericsson, launched the first official television broadcast over a 3G network. Johansson is co-inventor of two patents for streaming and bandwidth adaptation techniques over wireless networks submitted by Popwire. Popwire's customers include Apple Computer, ABC, MTV, BBC, CTIA, Ericsson, Microsoft, Vodafone, 3 and other industry leaders.

Prior to joining Popwire Johansson has held several key positions within the broadcast industry focusing on digital technologies. Johansson started his career rooted in media – focusing on audio and video production. 

Bruce Gilpin – Chief Operating Officer

Bruce Gilpin is the Chief Operating Officer of MobiTV.  Bruce is a technology industry veteran with broad experience at emerging growth companies; his background includes stints in operations, finance, strategy, and corporate development.

Previously, Bruce was the Executive Vice President of Global Mergers and Acquisitions at the world’s largest Internet professional services firm - USWeb/CKS.  Bruce identified, evaluated, and closed over 40 acquisitions while at USWeb/CKS, helping the company to launch a successful IPO in 1997.  More recently Bruce was the CFO of energy technology company APX.  Bruce has co-founded, financed, and advised numerous technology start-ups including; InveSmart, Electron Economy, NBX Sports, Intend Change Group, Attenda Ltd., and Free-Rein.

Gilpin holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Occidental College.

Bill Losch – Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Losch is the Chief Financial Officer for MobiTV and brings more than two decades of experience in the corporate financial field to the Company’s executive team; boasting executive leadership positions across key markets including entertainment, technology and financial.  Losch is responsible for all finance and administration functions including corporate finance, accounting and control, legal affairs and human resources.

Losch joins MobiTV from DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc., where he managed all accounting and control, financial reporting, treasury, and tax functions as the Company’s chief accounting officer (CAO).  Losch was an integral part of the management team responsible for a highly successful initial public offering in October 2004.

Prior to DreamWorks Animation SKG, Losch served as Vice President of Finance and Chief Accounting Officer at Yahoo!, Inc., where he was responsible for the Company’s day-to-day accounting operations and corporate accounting and control, financial reporting, budget and forecasting, risk management and facilities.

Between 1993 and 1998, Losch held multiple VP-level positions for Universal Studios, Inc., and prior to that, he worked at KPMG Peat Marwick with responsibility for managing audit and other financial service engagements for commercial banks, real estate and entertainment companies.

Losch holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from The University of California at Los Angeles and is a licensed CPA in the State of California.
